akiko's question:
Hey. How do the buildings in a small crammed town like Shibam look like?(give a different answer) .
Most say Shibam, set on the former frankincense and myrrh trading route, isn't a lot different from the way it looked in the 1500s. About 500 tower-buildings made out of baked-clay bricks are squashed in a third of a square mile surface. The majority of the buildings were erected durind16th century, but they're hardly distinguishable from those dating 50 years ago due to the enforced codes of using traditional materials. Women wearing huge straw caps and black veils cram on the streets. Take a look at the photo to get a picture!
